Dear Sixth Form pupils,

The HSPA is compiling a list of Sixth Formers (which may include year 13 students after they have completed their A-levels and left Highgate School) who would like to do babysitting for current Highgate School parents/carers. This information will be made available upon request to relevant parents/carers who live in the same local area as the babysitters.

We would like to invite all interested pupils who are in the Sixth Form as of September 2025 to volunteer to be listed in the HSPA Babysitting Directory which was originally launched to parents of Highgate pupils at the beginning of Michaelmas Term 2011.

How it works

  1. Sixth Formers for the academic year starting in September 2024 may sign up to join the Babysitting Directory.
  2. Parents looking for babysitters will use the matching platform via the following link
  3. The platform will identify those Sixth Formers who live within the requesting parents’ and neighboring postcode areas and share their contact details to the parents/carers.
  4. The service is solely an introductory one, so once parents have been given the contact details, bookings for babysitting are made directly by parents with the Sixth Former.
  5. It is important to stress that neither the HSPA nor Highgate School have a responsibility beyond the provision of a list of potential babysitters. The school will not act as a referee for pupils included on the list. Parents are encouraged to carry out their own checks with other parents and, if applicable, former employers.
  6. The HSPA politely requests that babysitters and parents/carers of children requiring babysitting ensure that all Covid guidance in place at the relevant time is followed. If any party involved in the babysitting arrangements has any Covid symptoms, or has been in contact with anyone with symptoms, they should notify the other party so that a decision can be taken about whether the babysitting should go ahead.
